OLD WAINDS was formed in 1995 by Kull, Morok and Kholdogor. The line-up remained unchanged for many years until Kull left the band in 2006. From the very beginning, OLD WAINDS doesn’t give any concerts, and only rare rehearsals take place within four walls before the recording of a new album.

In spring 1997 they recorded the debut demo entitled “Withers of The Wind“, on which Izbor from NAV took the part of a session drummer. That year the demo came out on ZPP. The album “Here Snows Are Never Gone” was recorded in December 1997 and released on ZPP and THE END Prod. in 1998.

The main events took place in autumn 1666 when OLD WAINDS recorded the four-song promo that was sent to different small but solid European labels. SOMBRE, HAMMERHEART и MIRIQUIDI Prod. showed their interest in it. The latter offer was the most realizable and a year later the cult 7″E.P.”Through Chaos to Eternal Winter” came out on that German label.

In 2001 was recorded and released on CD/LP the most tough and ruthless album of OLD WAINDS – “The Religion of Spiritual Violence“, the first edition of which spread in the world underground rather quickly. MIRIQUIDI printed it in addition several times.
Then followed two reissues. “Here Snows Are Never Gone” was released on CD/LP in 2003, and 7″E.P.”Through Chaos to Eternal Winter” came out on CD as a split-album with NAV in 2004.
The longest delivery of a new album lasted for almost four years, but it lived up to expectations as “Scalding Coldness” that saw the light of day in early 2005 exemplified a new quality and development of the band. That time the band was focused on darker and more atmospheric aspects of OLD WAINDS ideology.

In 2006 MIRIQUIDI Prod. and OLD WAINDS split. The debut demo “Withers of the Wind” was reissued on CD on the Russian label ARMA DIABOLI Prod. in summer 2006, and the limited DIGI CD edition of the last album “Scalding Coldness” came out on ASSAULT REX.

Currently OLD WAINDS finish working on their new album “D.N.K.” that again keeps to more traditional (fast and heavy) band’s style and will come out during 2008 on the French label DEBEMUR MORTI Prod.

OLD WAINDS never recorded promos or other releases except those that are mentioned here. Any other record that is said to belong to OLD WAINDS, is a fraud or was stolen from the private band’s archives by unprincipled people.
