+ PENTSIGN +

The way of some members of the act (that also played in such bands as NAV, FULL DECAY, DISMEMBER LIFE BODY) started in the far-off 1998 with the project NECHIST (Evil Spirits).
Despite that the name PENTSIGN first emerged in 2003, the band acquired flesh and blood not so long ago. So, after some years, instability of the line-up and other problems PENTSIGN are strong as ever. After a sudden resurrection from the dead and the debut gig in the spring of 2007 the band boldly presented itself and caused controversial reaction of the local audience. Young headbangers applauded: The older, less enthusiastic and with the sly expression remarked: we shall see…
And finally it happened. Again suddenly (although there were rumours about some records) I’ve got the whole album! And all my worst suspicions and speculations are wretched in the storm of brutal Black/Death Metal. On the debut album “Cacophonous March of the Dark” we hear about 50 minutes of intense and brutal material that is too varied to be called old school and vice versa, too old school to be called a new word in the history of music. Once, in conversation, the phrase was dropped: we are for the Old Evil. These words better than something else characterize the style of the band showing that the essence of PENTSIGN is not in the trends and wishes, but in the ability to create music and express their thoughts, preferring to defend their stark emotions by piling up brutal riffs and to draw down this wall when the mood demands only to build it again for the heavy defence. Rough, but not without suitable melodies. Fast, doped with slow psychic convulsions. Mature, with not trivial guitar work, double bass drum storm, two vocals…On the whole, all is quite old to be new. And there is no need for something different! The old evil.
