Pogost - is it a churchyard around a church?  Pogost – is the churchyard for the bodies of the Christians, this is their final abode where they shall decay and putrefy in complete unanimity with each other and in conformity with their defective canons, they all shall be in the ground.
Pogost is the churchyard around the church. Razed to the ground, burnt down, and covered with ashes of biblical stories. Pogost is dark desires, unleashed… This is the desire to destroy the world and everything connected with it. Hail everyone with us!
POGOST began their way in 2002 and since that time there were no changes in the line-up of the trio. Sarmat (bass/vocal), Askold (guitar) and Apostol successfully passed their time of formation despite numerous curses of audience and finally got firmly established in 2004. The band’s style has always been under the influence of old school (1st and 2nd waves) BM bands. POGOST’s lyrics have never been too philosophical. Both lyrics and music bring a simple epistle to the Christian world, as well as to the people’s world generally. Curses, aversion and hate. In spring 2007 the first demo “Dead jesus” was recorded and released as a split-album with Byblis and Beyond Ye Grave. The same year the debut album “…from the eternal Chaos” was recorded for The HOWL. It is a blasphemous, full of hate to everything in this world, simple and vehement piece of cruel Black Metal! Now POGOST are in the process of making a new portion of poison, and take the opportunity to give great concerts.
